OPEN GARDENS WEEKEND - After a 3 year absence this event will be held over the weekend of the 4th and 5th June between 2 and 6pm. 27 gardens will be open including some the old favourites but also some new and exciting ones. Cream teas will be served in the Reading Room. Plants, books and locally crafted wooden bowls and ornaments will also be on sale. Entry is £4 per adult and children are free. Please park in the Village Hall and Recreation Ground car park. All proceeds in aid of Combe Community Hub.

Methodist Chapel, Park Road - The Methodist Chapel has recently been registered as an Asset of Community Value. Notification from the owner of an intention to dispose of of Combe Methodist Chapel has been received by WODC. Combe Community Hub has been set up to raise money to try to buy this building for the village. They are looking for financial support and if you can help, please look at their website:     www.combehub.org.uk

Clean for the Queen - On 5th March a large number of residents cleared up litter, mattresses, bicycles and other items from the verges, playing field and woodland around the parish. The picture shows the result stacked on The Green awaiting collection by West Oxfordshire District Council. Road signs and signposts were also cleaned and the village now looks much smarter and tidier - a big thank you to all that helped and please keep up the good work to keep everything looking so much better..

Automated External Defibrillator - for cardiac arrest. The pictures are the handover from DickTracey of the NHS Ambulance Service at the December meeting and the other two taken by an official photographer for the Witney Gazette showing it being installed on the side wall of the Reading Room.
